After writing on Medium for some time now, I decided to expand my writing career by taking a course in copywriting. I found that I liked soft copywriting like writing articles, newsletters, blog posts, case studies instead of sales copy.

At the same time I decided to expand the Black men’s health advocacy by taking a course to teach me how to conduct a 5-day challenge. This was an eye-opening course for me. I am developing me first 5-day free challenge to be held in June titled Wife2Wife: Empower Your Man’s Health.

How do you like the Wife2Wife slogan?

I originally started the Black Men’s Health Advocacy as a result of my husband’s dying from colon cancer and the fact that he would not go to the doctor. I beat myself up about this after he died. I don’t want other women/wives to experience this anguish. This was particularly hard for me because I am a nurse. I finally realized I was really angry at home for sitting up in our home with health issues and not telling me. You do not want people to know that you are mad at a loved one who died. Family members are going on and on about what a good person (s)he was and offering condolences.

What can you do about these feelings you have?

Eventually, I had to talk to someone that was not in my circle of friends or family. I had to acknowledge my anger at him for leaving me and not talking to me about his health. Everyone talked to me about their health except him. I felt bad, sad, and angry about this. I even retired from nursing.

So now, I am helping people in a different way than regular bedside nursing. I want to educate my community and the world about healthy living through health content writing.

XOXO
